Martin Gostwick - the Loss of a Great Friend
Added on 29 August 2021
It is with great sadness that the Friends of Hugh Miller committee share the news of the death of our founder and long-time secretary, Martin Gostwick, in July 2021. As a valued member of the Friends, you will no doubt recognise the extraordinary enthusiasm and commitment that Martin brought to our small charity; his loss is felt keenly by all.

The latest newsletter (issue 49) provides considerable insights into Martin’s rich and at times astonishing life, and includes the final piece that Martin wrote for Hugh’s News before his death, which celebrates the completion of ‘Eliza’s Path’ at St. Regulus Churchyard in Cromarty.
The Friends committee thank you for your ongoing support, and please rest assured that we will do all in our power to honour Martin’s legacy and help the Friends of Hugh Miller go from strength to strength. Any help in that regard would be warmly welcomed – and if you have any questions or comments going forward, please do not hesitate to contact us on admin@thefriendsofhughmiller.org.uk
