BEAUTIFUL AGATES SHOW
A small display of magnIficent agates from the collections of Professor Matthew Heddle and John Mackenzie, fifth earl of Cromartie, is being shown at NMS, Chambers Street, Edinburgh, Exhibition Gallery 3, Level 1, until 2nd September.
Rachel Walcott, NMS principal curator of earth systems, comments: "Agates are so modest on the outside, but close up they reveal a world of colour and patterns. They are veritable works of art in nature."
